Assistant Principal & Designated Safeguarding Lead

Salary Range £40,517 – £48,168 per annum depending on experience and qualifications

40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Principal and Designated Safeguarding Lead to support the Executive Principal in providing leadership for our two sites in Bristol: Grace Garden School, Westbury on Trym and new site opening in Stoke Bishop. Responsible for its success and continuous improvement, ensuring high quality education for all its students and the highest standards of learning and achievement in accordance with statutory and Ofsted requirements, and in line with the vision and method of Ruskin Mill Trust. The post holder will be theDesignated Safeguarding Lead and will lead on behaviour management and pastoral support within the school.Main Duties include:

  • Assist the Executive Principal to create an organisational structure that reflects the school’s values, and enables the management systems, structures and processes to work effectively in line with legal requirements.
  • To deputise for the Executive Principal where needed
  • To act as a line manager for designated staff, including carrying out probationary reviews, performance development reviews, supervisions, debriefs and performance and absence management.
  • To act as a Designated Attendance Lead in accordance to the Attendance Policy.
  • To support the Executive Principal to develop a school ethos that enables everyone to work collaboratively, share knowledge and understanding, celebrate success and accept responsibility for outcomes.
  • To work in collaboration with the Executive Principal to drive the school improvement and the school self-assessment and improvement plan in the context of the Ofsted inspection framework and the educational and therapeutic paradigm of the Trust.
