This is a role with an ambitious brief. We are looking for an individual who can play an interim role in the delivery of our new 10-year strategy in Scotland. A strategy that will see us achieving greater change for children through an increased focus on prevention, partnerships and collaboration with communities so that we can inspire more people to be there for children. You will be a member of the Local Services leadership team, and will actively contribute to the leadership, strategic direction and overall performance of the Services Directorate. You will be the regional/national lead for our local services including our work in schools, direct services to children and families and our local campaigning activity.

The internal secondment for the interim role will be for a period of 4 months whilst the recruitment for the permanent position is undertaken.

We are looking for leaders with knowledge and experience in at least one of the following areas; child sexual abuse, early years, child protection within devolved nations, place based approaches, schools & education, strategic partnerships and trauma informed approaches, who:

  • has a recognised relevant professional qualification or considerable senior leadership experience in delivering high quality services in a safeguarding context.
  • is a robust and compassionate change leader someone who can skilfully work through change management processes to implement strategic change.
  • will stand up for what is right, demonstrating commitment to the provision of high quality services and considerable experience of performance management and delivering on business plans and objectives.
  • will be adept at articulating a compelling vision and in developing and maintaining innovative, complex partnerships and skilled at negotiating and influencing both internally and externally.
  • will have a commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion and be willing to work proactively to remove both real and perceived barriers, valuing everybody who volunteers with, works for, supports or benefits from our work.
