What will you be doing?

Key Responsibilities:

  • Policy Development & Compliance:
    • Develop, implement, and regularly review ESC’s safeguarding policies and procedures.
    • Ensure that ESC is compliant with national safeguarding legislation and best practices.
    • Provide advice to the trustees and leadership team on safeguarding matters.
  • Safeguarding Training & Awareness:
    • Deliver safeguarding training to volunteers, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities.
    • Raise awareness of safeguarding issues and promote a culture of safety across the organization.
  • Risk Management & Incident Reporting:
    • Manage any safeguarding concerns or incidents, ensuring they are dealt with in line with ESC’s policies.
    • Act as the main point of contact for safeguarding issues, both internally and externally.
    • Maintain accurate records of safeguarding incidents and follow up on any required actions.
  • Support & Guidance:
    • Provide ongoing guidance and support to volunteers and staff regarding safeguarding.
    • Ensure safeguarding measures are in place at all ESC events and activities.

What are we looking for?

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in safeguarding, social work, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding policies and legislation.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive information.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to promoting a safe, inclusive environment.
