Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) has an exciting opportunity available for a Safeguarding Officer to join our team in Maidstone and County-wide. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £28,236 – £32,136 per annum.

About the role:
As a Safeguarding Officer, you will act as one of the Designated Safeguarding Officers (DSOs) responsible for managing a caseload. Answering enquiries on the DSO line, collating these and effectively recording them to ensure that timely support is offered. You will need to demonstrate experience in writing reports and case related evidence and information.
As our Safeguarding Officer, you will be responsible for:
- Support with all aspects of safeguarding across the service including offering advice to colleagues and answering enquiries
- Manage a safeguarding caseload, make referrals and liaise with other safeguarding professionals
- Assist with internal and external communications to raise safeguarding awareness and supporting with the development and delivery of training sessions
What we’re looking for in our Safeguarding Officer:
- Experience of dealing with child and adult safeguarding concerns, answering requests for advice and progressing concerns by contacting other agencies for advice or information sharing
- Excellent communication skills and be able to explore and understand what is happening within a family using professional curiosity and considering the voice of the child or adult at risk
