Training forum: Forum for School Safeguarding Leads

The purpose of the day is to provide a day of focused training and discussion for Designated Safeguarding Leads, and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads, working in schools. With BSA, the aim is to provide an environment for discussion of key, current, safeguarding issues facing students and their teachers.
Following training, there will be a Forum, led by Mike Tonks, Second Master of Shrewsbury School.
The programme includes:
- Working with local partners
- Young people and Gaming: the good, the bad and the misunderstood
- Safeguarding resources for Schools
- Dealing with peer-on-peer abuse
- Member rate: £125

Speaker: Dale Wilkins, Child protection specialist
Dale is a child protection specialist, with over 30 years’ experience working in the education sector. He is currently the Director of Safeguarding, Standards and Training for the Boarding Schools’ Association, is accredited by the NSPCC, having completed their ‘Training for trainers in child protection’ and his work includes liaising with government bodies on behalf of the sector as well as delivering child protection CPD to schools. Dale has also been a multi-agency safeguarding trainer for Dudley Safeguarding Children Board.
