All organisations have a responsibility to protect children and adults at risk with whom they come into contact. As such, Sacpa represents a broad range of individuals, agencies, organisations and charities concerned with improving safeguarding and child protection. We work with, and for, members to share knowledge and best practice whilst championing excellence in safeguarding and child protection.
In the UK and Ireland, safeguarding and child protection responsibilities are set out in a range of legislation and guidance including:
England
- The Children Act
- The Children and Social Work Act
- The Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act
- Working Together to Safeguard Children
- Keeping Children Safe in Education
Scotland
Wales
