SACPA Members Safeguarding Awards 2024

SACPA Safeguarding Awards were created to celebrate the achievements, hard work, and dedication of professional and organisational members of SACPA.

Nominations for this year’s awards are now open.  The closing date for nominations is September 30, 2024 and we will be announcing the winners during our SACPA / BSA Annual Safeguarding Conference on Wednesday November 27, 2024.

Entry requirements

Nominated individuals should be SACPA professional and organisational members.  Supporting statements should draw on initiatives and work that was ongoing between 30.09.23 – 30.09.24.

Using the entry form below. Please write a supporting statement of no more than 500 words about why you, your organisation or the individual you are nominating should win the award. A separate entry form should be completed for each award category if you are applying for multiple awards.  Please make sure you include your name, organisation, and which award category you are entering.

Please email your submissions to info@sacpa.org.uk. You may also send in up to five pieces of supporting evidence (please send any large files by WeTransfer).

Deadlines

Please send your entries to info@sacpa.org.uk by September 30, 2024.

Our panel of judges will select a shortlist of finalists for each category.

Finalists will be notified by October 30, 2024. Winners will be announced at the SACPA/BSA Annual Safeguarding Conference on Wednesday November 27, 2024.

Sacpa Safeguarding Award categories for 2024:

Crisis Safeguarding Award 2023-24

This award recognises exceptional safeguarding work carried out by an organisation or individual in response to specific, nationally or internationally recognised crisis.

The judges will be looking for evidence of work undertaken and how it helped to safeguard vulnerable individuals and aid trauma recovery.

International Safeguarding Award 2023-24

This award recognises organisations or individuals who have demonstrated the values of safeguarding in international settings and contexts.

The judges will be looking for nominees to demonstrate how their safeguarding initiatives and outcomes delivered have made a positive contribution to global safeguarding.

Safeguarding Initiative Award 2023-24

This award recognises an outstanding safeguarding initiative undertaken by an organisation or individual.

The judges will be looking for initiatives which have successfully helped to safeguard high numbers of people; how the initiative was delivered, and evidence of positive results.

Outstanding Commitment to Safeguarding Award 2023-24

This award recognises the outstanding safeguarding work of an organisation or individual over a significant period of time.

The judges will be looking for nominees who can clearly demonstrate a strong and proven track record of making a positive difference in the world of safeguarding through direct work and or the development of safer organisation initiatives.

Safeguarding Inclusion Award 2023-24

This award celebrates diversity and embedding a culture of inclusion.

The judges will be looking for safeguarding projects or initiatives which have helped increase diversity and inclusion within an organisation’s day-to-day work and wider culture.

Using the appropriate award descriptor please write a 500 word supporting statement which may detail where appropriate; description of need or challenge, methodology behind initiative (how and why), brief description of implementation, brief description of impact and outcomes stating where appropriate any evaluation and wider implications, dissemination of findings for best practice.
