A key role in our Bradford office for a Safeguarding professional. The role is hybrid, 2 days per week in office, close to public transports and with public parking nearby. Part of the client services team, this new person will be working closely with the leaders of CTM Bradford. Ideally permanent, can be fixed term. Immediate start will be a plus!
Key Responsibilities:
As the designated safeguarding lead (DSL) for both children and adults at risk you are to be the strategic lead on all safeguarding matters and act as the main source of support, advice and expertise for safeguarding across CTM, our subcontractors and supply chain.
To strategically advise and support the senior team in developing our approach in all safeguarding matters.
Support the senior team leadership in developing and establishing a safer culture within the organisation and maintaining a strong commitment to safeguarding.
Play a lead role in implementing, maintaining and reviewing CTM’s operational plan for safeguarding.
The development, annual review and implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures and safeguarding resources throughout CTM and our supply chain.
Advise on training needs and safeguarding subject development needs, delivering training where appropriate.
Auditing the effectiveness of our safeguarding policies and procedures within CTM managed accommodation sites and ensure accurate recording keeping of all safeguarding concerns
Provide safeguarding advice and support to CTM staff, subcontractors and partners.
Manage safeguarding concerns, allegations or incidents across our managed accommodation portfolio.
- To manage all safeguarding referrals and safeguarding cases including liaison with other relevant statutory agencies such as the police and social care services
- Report on and manage all safeguarding serious incidents and advise CTM to ensure that serious incidents relating to safeguarding are reported immediately to the appropriate agencies and managed effectively
To keep up to date of developments in safeguarding and maintain appropriate local and national links
Engage in continuing professional development (CPD), updating their own safeguarding training every year, and where applicable, maintaining professional registration requirements, e.g. social work/health where applicable. This includes undertaking regular safeguarding supervision that may be provided externally.
Provide lead responsibility for managing safeguarding allegations and act as a liaison for statutory services during any criminal or safeguarding investigations
- Liaison with CTM teams as and when necessary i.e., concerns regarding staff
- Undertake case management and reviews of serious incidents
- Support the quality and review function for all safeguarding concerns by providing quarterly safeguarding reports to CTM
Core Skills:
Relevant professional qualification (e.g. in social work) and/or equivalent experience through working in safeguarding (e.g. in a health, police, Local Authority or probation setting.)
Significant experience as a practitioner in the field of safeguarding children, young people and adults at risk.
Experience of dealing with safeguarding, concerns, queries and complaints.
Experience of implementing safeguarding policies and processes
Dynamic personality able to effectively engage and influence a variety of audiences at all levels of a business.
Confident communicator (written and oral) and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and influence a variety of audiences at all levels of internal and external organisations.
Extensive knowledge of the legislative framework associated with safeguarding and referral pathways
A focus on relationships, able to gain trust through communication, expectation setting and completion of planned deliverables.
Approachable and caring, but with an ability to maintain objectivity when dealing with complex situations and to take decisive action when necessary
Strong analytical skills.
Highly resilient –remains calm under pressure.
Experience of managing safeguarding cases
Have an understanding of:
- The different forms of abuse and neglect and their impact on child development and adults at risk
- How to respond appropriately to survivors of abuse
- The UK legislative frameworks which promote the safety and wellbeing of both children and adults
- The principles and importance of information sharing and confidentiality including data protection requirements
- Current safeguarding practice and thinking
