About the role
Join our team as the Director of Multi-Agency Safeguarding for the Isle of Man Safeguarding Board!
The Director of Multi-Agency Safeguarding is a new role that will give you the opportunity to lead the development of multi-agency safeguarding practice in the Isle of Man for children and adults for the Safeguarding Board.
In this role, you will be leading and developing multi-agency safeguarding strategies, policies and influence wider policy development on the island. You will be working independently and flexibly, with the support of the Independent Chair to ensure that IOM citizens are protected from abuse and harm.
You will be responsible for managing the Board’s Business Support Team and working collaboratively with key agencies and sectors to ensure the Board meets its statutory functions and achieves measurable impacts for children and vulnerable adults.
You will also be able to link with other jurisdictions and use the very best practice from elsewhere to develop innovative multi-agency responses, to improve how the island protects its most vulnerable citizens.
What can this role offer me?
If working flexibly is important to you, you’ll be happy to know we operate a flexi-time system making it easier to reclaim any additional hours worked and to fit your other commitments around your work life.
You will ordinarily be required to be present on island for two working weeks per month on average, and must as a minimum be available on island to coincide with the key statutory Board meetings, which are in person meetings. A maximum of £330 per month will be available to claim towards travel expenses on the provision of receipts.
The role will give you the chance to work with Ministers, Chief Executives and managers from all government departments and agencies as well as the opportunity to work collaboratively with other jurisdictions, giving you the freedom to develop ‘best in class safeguarding practice’.
You can also take advantage of the excellent opportunities we provide for personal and professional development. There will be opportunities for professional development through national safeguarding networks and collaborative working and local access to all the great courses the Isle of Man Government offer through LEAD, our Learning, Education and Development Service.
