Job Description

This is a fixed term post until 31/03/2025.

As part of the ongoing transformation and improvement across children and adult service in West Dunbartonshire HSCP ,applicants are invited in relation to an exciting opportunity and new role to support learning and development for staff involved in delivering public protection services in our communities.

The post holder will be expected to undertake analysis of staff training needs, commission and deliver learning sessions and work closely with managers and staff across services to build and develop our learning culture within the partnership.

The post holder will be part of a small learning and quality team and will be expected to work closely with Lead officers for child and adult protection , and provide reports to Committees where required.

Knowledge in relation to key policy drivers and underpinning legislation is essential in relation to Adult and Child protection. The role of out of Child Protection National Guidance and associated learning requirements will form part of the work plan over coming months.

The applicant will have excellent communication and delivery skills and a passion for high quality practice standards .

Requirements

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Adults and Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here.

Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.

Responsibilities
