The City of York Council are offering an exciting opportunity to join our rapidly developing safeguarding children team working across the Healthy Child Service and the City of York Multiagency Safeguarding Hub (MASH).
We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and enthusiastic practitioner with a high level of experience in safeguarding children practice.
22.5 hours per week worked over 3 days.
Healthy Child Service:
You will contribute to the provision of safeguarding advice, support, supervision and training to staff in the City of York Healthy Health Child Service. Additionally, you will represent the service at multiagency safeguarding meetings including strategy meetings and case conferences, MARAC meeting and meetings about children at risk of exploitation.
MASH:
You will work as part of a multi-agency integrated team contributing your expertise to the safeguarding management discussions within the Multi- Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH).
You will gather information from a wide range of health provider organisations utilising your knowledge and expertise to interpret this information and contribute towards the assessment of need, potential harm and risk to the children).
You will work collaboratively with partner agencies within the MASH to ensure robust, high quality, timely and effective practice to safeguard children.
You will have
Excellent communication skills
Up to date knowledge, skills and competencies within the multi-agency safeguarding children arena
Significant experience working with children and families where there are safeguarding children concerns
Experience in effective multi-agency and partnership working
Ability to build relationships with a wide range of colleagues
Skills to support effective challenge when there are differing professional opinions on the management of cases
In recognition of the challenging nature of this
work you will be provided with both management
and peer support as well as regular supervision
and relevant training.
As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C2: Can express him/herself spontaneously at length with a natural conversational flow, avoiding or backtracking around any difficulty so smoothly that the person with whom they are conversing is hardly aware of it.
