SAFEGUARDING COMPLIANCE MANAGER
Covering Reading/Oxfordshire/Buckinghamshire/Wiltshire – Hybrid
INTERIM 6 MONTH VACANCY – 2.5 Days per week
(with the possibility of moving from temp to perm)
Salary £40,00 FTE Based 35 hours per week – Pro rata £20,000 based on 17.5hrs per week

We are looking to hire a Safeguarding Compliance Manager to work across the organisation covering all our regions. This is an exciting role for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and loves being part of a team.

Job Purpose
As Safeguarding Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for providing expertise and resource to bring about a safe environment, minimising risk to the people we support by training, supporting, and developing our staff and risk control systems. You will work with our commissioners and other multi-disciplinary professionals.
We wish looking to review and enhance our safeguarding policy and procedures, drive compliance and further increase workforce engagement ensuring that principles of safeguarding are embedded in all our practices.
Responsibilities and duties include (but not exclusive to)
To act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead for Autism at Kingwood
Implement and maintain policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, ensuring that they are regularly reviewed and updated in line with best practice and statutory guidance and up to date with current legislation and best practice whilst ensuring that Kingwood’s policies and procedures are aligned with these changes
Provide specialist safeguarding knowledge and advice, making decisions, and managing responses to complex cases in conjunction with regulators, statutory agencies, registered managers, Kingwood senior leadership team (SLT) and Board.
Work collaboratively with other staff, external agencies, and professionals to ensure the people we support receive appropriate support and interventions where necessary, whether internal or external, attending meetings and carrying out actions as required
Undertake case management in line with Kingwood policies and procedures and support operational staff to deliver safe care and support and continually improve practice.
Develop Kingwood’s safeguarding data and information systems, ensuring that there is organisational oversight and consistency of practice.
Maintain accurate records of all safeguarding concerns and incidents, reporting any concerns promptly and following up as required
Analyse data and information to provide oversight and assurance to the Safeguarding Governance Group, SLT and the Board.
Proactively lead the development of Kingwood’s safeguarding systems with a focus on delivering high quality services.
Provide regular guidance to staff on safeguarding issues, promoting a culture of vigilance and awareness for Kingwood
Organise and carry out service visits as appropriate
Skills and Attributes Required:
· A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a dedicated Safeguarding role ideally in a care setting
· Possess a comprehensive understanding of safeguarding legislation, guidance, and best practice
· Be able to deal with sensitive issues with diplomacy and tact
·
· Excellent communication skills coupled with the confidence required to inform and educate employees
· Excellent interpersonal, presentation skills

· The ability to constructively challenge safety behaviors, management thinking and current procedures and processes
· Have the right to work within the UK
· Hold a full UK driving license
