Job Title: Safeguarding Officer
Location: Manchester, UK (Hybrid)
Salary: £25,000 – £28,000
Due to rapid growth within the business, we’re looking for an experienced Safeguarding Officer to join our amazing team at The B2W Group! This is an exciting opportunity to join a fantastic organisation based in Manchester Head Office.
Working under the supervision of the Designated Safeguarding Lead, the Safeguarding Officer will develop the appropriate knowledge and professional advice to support the safeguarding of learners and staff throughout the group. The post-holder will promote and encourage the highest standards of protection for vulnerable groups, as well as the creation and maintenance of a safe environment, reducing the likelihood and opportunities for abuse to occur.
Main Responsibilities
- Contribute to and assist in the development of policies and procedures and development of robust systems and processes across the group, working to ensure the effective implementation of these policies and procedures through ongoing monitoring.
- Daily management of the safeguarding inbox, responding to allegations and concerns and implementing the appropriate policies and procedures.
- Have input on the delivery of safeguarding training and creation of safeguarding newsletters, ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures for the safety of our employees.
- Contribute to an active dialogue with statutory agencies, including the Police and relevant social care agencies, as well as working closely with geographical safeguarding boards to share best practice.
The Ideal Candidate
- Evidence of successful practical work within a safeguarding setting, particularly within the education sector.
- Experience of working with statutory authorities, showing a good understanding of Local Authority, national governmental structures and safeguarding landscape.
- Qualified to at least L4 in a relevant subject (Teaching, Social Care etc.) as well as a L3 qualification in Safeguarding.
- The ability to work and communication with an appropriate degree of sensitivity, demonstrating sound judgement and diplomacy, and representing the business in a positive way.
