We are now seeking to recruit an empathetic and ethical colleague to the post of Safeguarding Officer. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience of working with disadvantaged or vulnerable young people, experience of safeguarding, and current knowledge of guidance and resources relating to welfare, mental health and the issues impacting on young peoples’ wellbeing.
As a Safeguarding Officer, you will be a key member of the safeguarding team, responding to referrals, recording and investigating concerns raised by members of staff, students, parents or external agencies, and implementing and monitoring interventions for a caseload of students faced with welfare needs. Commencing as soon as possible, in this role you will contribute to the completion of risk assessments, transition and support plans, promote safety and wellbeing throughout the college, use college systems to share clear and timely information with colleagues, and deputise for the Safeguarding & Student Wellbeing Manager in making referrals or attending multi-agency meetings as required.
