About the role
Here at Babcock International we’re looking to recruit a Safeguarding Welfare Inclusion Officer.
Babcock are the training provider for the BMW Group UK Academy. The Academy are looking to recruit a Safeguarding, Wellbeing and Inclusion Officer to support the learning provision for BMW apprenticeships and BMW’s Retail Network. We work with over 13,000 learners per year and this role is a key part of ensuring excellence in the learning that we provide, enhancing and supporting an inclusive and welcoming culture.
The purpose of the role is to:
- Promote the early accurate identification and management of safeguarding and welfare concerns of apprentice learners across the BMW contract,
- Develop and implement wellbeing and inclusion strategies and interventions to support the vision of the BMW Academy
- Develop a culture of inclusion and wellbeing across the BMW Academy, raising awareness and supporting both the Academy team and all Academy learners.
This role will provide leadership, expert practice, research and education in these areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing the existing teams within the contract; working with internal (and external) partners to implement Babcock agreed strategies, protocols, pathways and action plans to strengthen the management of apprenticeship safeguarding provision in line with Babcock’s safeguarding policy.
- Developing wellbeing and inclusion strategies and interventions across the BMW Academy to enhance the provision of learning in all areas.
- Raising the awareness of inclusion and wellbeing for the Academy team and learners to support the culture of continuous development.
- Focusing on robust risk management systems to ensure safe, efficient, effective and timely escalation and responses of the safeguarding agenda and training of personnel to ensure the opportunity to meet the requirements of Babcock policy.
- Oversight of the Safeguarding Agenda, aligned with Babcock policy and protocols, for the BMW contract including Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults, Young People and Children – to include Special Educational Needs, Mental Health Capacity, PREVENT, Honour Based Abuse including FGM and Forced Marriage, Domestic Abuse and MARAC, MAPPA as well as any other highlighted concerns linked to the progress of Apprentices.
- Promotion, direction and oversight of SEN learners, by providing leadership, support and direction for inclusion, driving learner achievement and progression through effective inclusion practice and wherever possible exploring the opportunity to apply for and facilitate the use of LSF.
What do I need to do the role?
You must have safeguarding experience and experience working with young and vulnerable people, experience working in a training and learning environment and experience wellbeing and inclusion.
